Los Angeles police have released video footage of the shooting involving author Jillian Lauren, the wife of Weezer bass player Scott Shriner, during a tumultuous backyard confrontation in Eagle Rock on April 8. Lauren sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, where she emerged with a gun as authorities searched the area for suspects involved in a car accident. Lauren was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released on $1 million bond pending further inquiry, with a court appearance scheduled for April 30. The released footage includes body camera recordings, surveillance videos, and audio of 911 dispatch conversations, which capture Lauren carrying a pistol while officers were shown urging her to drop her gun before shots were fired. The 51-year-old acclaimed author is known for works such as Some Girls: My Life in a Harem and Everything You Ever Wanted, in addition to being married to the longtime Weezer bassist. (Billboard)
