On Monday (April 21), Halestorm shared their new single, “Darkness Always Wins,” which will be featured on their highly-anticipated upcoming album. The moody ballad is produced by Dave Cobb, and is set to appear on Halestorm’s forthcoming project, though the band hasn’t revealed any additional details about the record as of yet. “‘Darkness Always Wins’ is not a song of hope, nor is it a song of despair,” singer Lzzy Hale says in a statement. “It is reality. History repeating. Evil prevails and the good depart first. But we are not doomed as long as we persist and keep our fires burning. The war may not be won in this lifetime. But our mission is to pass the torch so that those who follow have a light to fight with.” Halestorm have a packed touring schedule over the summer, opening for Iron Maiden in Europe, taking part in Ozzy Osbourne’s and Black Sabbath’s last show in Birmingham, England, on July 5, and supporting Volbeat in the U.S. (Rolling Stone)
