The original Tracks was released in 1998, and featured a four-disc set compiling unreleased music from the first 25 years of Springsteen’s career. During a 2022 Rolling Stone interview, The Boss was asked about the rumored existence of Tracks 2. “I have a box set of five unreleased albums that are basically post-1988,” he said. “I actually made a lot of music during that period of time.
