In a new interview with InStyle, Lady Gaga shared some creative insight into her highly-anticipated new album, Mayhem, during a chat with Spotify’s Head of Global Editorial, Sulinna Ong. Gaga previewed two new songs in their candid discussion, “The Beast” and “Perfect Celebrity,” with the Grammy-winning singer revealing how ballroom culture inspired her new material. “I was always inspired by the tremendous amount of grace, freedom, expression and joy of ballroom culture,” Gaga said. “There are these spaces in the world where there’s an ability for the community to express and experience joy, even when life is not treating them that way. I can’t think of a place where I’ve seen more resilience than in a ballroom.” Mayhem is set to drop on March 7, and a day ahead of its release, Spotify will be hosting a Little Monster Press Conference on Thursday, March 6, at 6 p.m. ET, where Gaga’s fans can ask Mother Monster questions about the album and her upcoming headlining performance at Coachella in April.
