On Friday (February 21), Carlos Santana announced that he is releasing a new album, Sentient, on March 28. The 11-track retrospective features both new and previously released tracks, including collaborations with Smokey Robinson and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, as well as posthumous contributions from music legends Miles Davis and Michael Jackson. The album includes a reworked version of Santana’s 2009 song with Robinson, “Please Don’t Take Your Love,” and a live instrumental showcase of Jackson’s “Stranger in Moscow.” “I went to the studio and did my own thing,” Santana said in a press release. “When I first heard these tracks floating around in the house, I said, ‘Why don’t we put these all in one place?'” Santana and his band kick off their 2025 tour on April 16 in Highland, California, and their two-week U.S. tour wraps up on April 29 in Nashville. Santana will then have international dates scheduled in Europe and the U.K. from early June through mid-August. (Ultimate Classic Rock)
