A compilation album called Los Angeles Rising, has just been released to benefit Sweet Relief, which is providing financial assistance to musicians and music industry workers affected by the recent L.A. wildfires. The collection was curated by Love & Rockets’ Kevin Haskins and producer Nick Launey, both of whom had to evacuate their homes during the fires. Los Angeles Rising features unreleased recordings donated by artists such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, PJ Harvey, Devo, Jarvis Cocker, Gary Numan, Primal Scream, Flea, John Frusciantee, and more. “This harrowing experience and witnessing the monumental destruction of entire communities, inspired Nick and I to team up to create a compilation album to raise money for the less fortunate,” Haskins said. “We reached out to our musician friends for unreleased recorded gems and the response was incredible!” The album is currently available for purchase on Bandcamp.
