Rhino has announced plans to release a new David Lee Roth box set, The Warner Recordings 1985-1994, on February 21st. The 5-LP and 5-CD sets capture Roth’s solo recordings immediately following his unceremonious exit from Van Halen in 1985. The collection begins with Diamond Dave’s platinum-selling Crazy from the Heat EP, which featured the Billboard Hot 100 Top 15 hit, “Just a Gigolo.” The box set also features Roth’s 1986 solo full-length debut, Eat ‘Em and Smile, which also went on to become a platinum-seller, and spawned the hit singles, “Yankee Rose” and “Goin’ Crazy,” as well as his covers of “Tobacco Road” and “That’s Life.” The Warner Recordings 1985-1994 is rounded out by Roth’s final three solo LPs for the label, 1988’s Skyscraper, 1991’s A Little Ain’t Enough, and 1994’s Your Filthy Little Mouth.
