X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg is developing a new Star Wars trilogy for Lucasfilm. The trilogy marks the beginning of a fresh story arc with new characters, closing the nine-movie Skywalker Saga. Details of the plot are currently undisclosed, but it’s been clarified that Kinberg’s movies will not continue the original saga initiated by George Lucas in 1977’s original. Other upcoming Star Wars projects in the pipeline include Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu series and two untitled films scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027. Despite several filmmakers attached to different projects, it remains uncertain which will hit theaters first. (Variety)
