James Van Der Beek revealed that he is battling colorectal cancer. “I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” he told People. “There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good.” Van Der Beek continues to work, appearing in recent projects like Walker and the upcoming Tubi original film Sidelined: The QB and Me. He’s also set to participate in an upcoming two-hour cancer awareness special called The Real Full Monty alongside Taye Diggs, Chris Jones, and Bruno Tonioli, premiering on December 9th on Fox.
