Mike Flanagan is set to adapt Stephen King’s debut novel, Carrie, into an eight-episode series as part of his deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The show will re-imagine the story of Carrie White as she navigates high school, bullying, and the discovery of her telekinetic powers. Flanagan, known for his acclaimed previous King adaptations like Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep, will write and executive produce the series. He also directed the upcoming adaptation of King’s novella The Life Of Chuck, and is working on turning the author’s sprawling fantasy epic The Dark Tower into a TV franchise. Brian De Palma first adapted Carrie as a film in 1976, starring Sissy Spacek. (COS)
