A judge upheld the guilty verdict against Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, rejecting the defense’s request for a new trial based on withheld evidence. The judge concluded that the undisclosed forensic report and interview with the weapons supplier that got Alec Baldwin’s case dismissed would not have changed the Reed’s trial outcome. Gutierrez Reed is currently serving an 18-month sentence for involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, while the defense team continues to pursue an appeal on various grounds and prosecutor Kari Morrissey seeks to revive the case against actor Baldwin.
