Actor Michael Shannon and indie guitarist Jason Narducy are taking their shared love of R.E.M. back on the road in 2025. The duo will celebrate 40 years of Fables of the Reconstruction by playing the classic album in full during a series of US shows. This follows their successful tour back in February of 2024 where they honored 40 years of Murmur with a similar trek. That run finished with a triumphant performance in R.E.M.’s hometown of Athens, Georgia, where Shannon and Narducy were joined by all four members of the legendary band, marking their first on-stage reunion in 17 years. The month-long tour features Dave Hill as the opening act, and gets started on February 14 at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California. “I’m happy this one is twice as long. The last one was too short,” says Shannon of the new tour. “This music is beyond comprehension and I cherish every chance I get to deliver it. R.E.M. means the world to me.” (Consequence of Sound)
