Steve Harvey will be the subject of a biopic titled Seventy-Two, focusing on a crucial 72-hour period before his transformative 1993 set at the Apollo Theater In Harlem. “I’ve been reluctant to make a movie about my life for years, until I read the pitch for Seventy-Two. It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost,” he said. “Wait until you see what we do with this.” The project remains in early development with no casting or writing announcements yet. Other highlights of Harvey’s career, including leaving a sales job to pursue show business, hosting Showtime At The Apollo, and earning 7 Emmys, will also be portrayed in the film. (Deadline)
