Katy Perry will receive MTV’s Video Vanguard Award at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, and the pop superstar will also perform a career-spanning medley live at the ceremony. The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast on MTV-affiliated networks on Wednesday, September 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from New York’s UBS Arena. Perry hosted the VMAs back in 2017, and won Video of the Year for “Firework” in 2011, making the singer the first artist to host and receive both of the show’s biggest honors throughout the course of her career. “Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon,” said Bruce Gillmer, Paramount’s president of music.
