French bands Phoenix and Air have both been selected to perform during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 11th, bringing the summer olympics to a stylish end. Phoenix and Air both kicked off the festivities surrounding the Paris Olympics with a special concert at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport on July 17th, with the two Versailles-based groups performing on the roof of Terminal 1 alongside French DJs Étienne de Crécy and Izzy Lindqwister. That show not only served as a pre-Olympics summer party but also a commemoration of the iconic airport’s 50th anniversary. In additional to the French musical touches of Phoenix and Air, the closing ceremony will also apparently feature Tom Cruise who will reportedly perform a stunt on the Stade de France as part of the official Olympic transition between Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
