Ian McKellen, 85, was hospitalized after falling off stage during a performance of Player Kings on London’s West End. The veteran actor reportedly lost his footing during a fight scene and took a tumble, prompting staff to rush to his aid as he cried out in pain. Audience members were evacuated and the rest of the show was canceled. Doctors expect McKellen to “make a speedy and full recovery,” according to a statement from his spokesperson, which they determined “following a scan.” However, today’s performance of the play was canceled to allow McKellen to rest. The actor, best known as Gandalf in Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit, is said to be in “good spirits.” (NBC News)
