Many leading comedians, including Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Chris Rock, are among over 100 guests invited for an audience with Pope Francis on Friday. According to the Vatican’s news site, the meeting aims to facilitate “intercultural dialogue, joy, and hope.” Other notable attendees include Jim Gaffigan, Whoopi Goldberg, Tig Notaro, and Conan O’Brien, as well as James Martin, the Jesuit priest known as the chaplain of The Colbert Report. Pope Francis previously expressed in an interview that he “prays daily in the words of St. Thomas More, asking the Lord to grant him a sense of humor.” (Deadline)
