Ahead of Pride Month in June, Elton John has launched the Speak Up Sing Out campaign which seeks to end LGBTQ+ discrimination while also empowering members of that community. Speak Up Sing Out supports The Rocket Fund, which was started by the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 2023. They are asking people to share their own unique renditions of the last verse of John’s beloved number, “Your Song,” while personally acknowledging the individual who supported them on their way towards self-acceptance. One lucky person will get to meet John and his husband David Furnish during Pride Month in New York City. “Think of the person who has fueled your journey to authenticity — a friend, a teacher, a loved one. Let’s honor these special people in our lives and raise our voices together — I’ll be listening for you to: Speak Up Sing Out!” says John. (People)
