‘Law & Order’ Star Mariska Hargitay Mistaken For Real Cop By Lost Child

Mariska Hargitay, known for her role as Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, recently came to the rescue while filming in New York. A lost child in Fort Tryon Park mistook Hargitay for a real police officer, thanks to the badge she was wearing, and asked her for help. The actress, who was filming a scene with Ice-T, then paused production for 20 minutes to assist in locating the child’s mother. After they were reunited, she was photographed comforting them both. These events unfolded as Hargitay and the Law & Order crew were filming the final episodes of the show’s 25th season, which premiered in January.
