‘Delusional’ Stalker Arrested Outside Of Shakira’s House

A Texas man named Daniel John Valtier was arrested outside Shakira's home in Miami this week and charged with one count of stalking. He's been obsessively posting about her social media for months, and even sent gifts such as wine bottles and toys to her home. “She’s my wife. I speak to her all the time,” Valtier, 56, claimed in court on Tuesday. The judge responded: “I have real concerns right now because this man is delusional saying she’s his wife and that’s not true. That is very concerning to the court.” He also increased the initial $50,000 bond to $100,000 and ordered Valtier not to try and contact Shakira, including via social media. “The 50K is not sufficient to protect this community and in particular this victim,” the judge said.
