Billie Eilish got a lot of attention for saying that she is “attracted to” women in a recent profile by Variety, but she thought that everybody already knew. “No I didn’t,” Eilish replied when asked at the publication's annual Hitmaker's Brunch event on Saturday if she had intended to come out in the article. “But I kind of thought, ‘Wasn’t it obvious?'… I didn’t realize people didn’t know.” And she doesn't like the concept of coming out anyway. “I just don’t really believe in it,” she added. “I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?' I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops.” Eilish was surprised by the attention: “I saw the article and I was like, oh… I guess… I came out today!” she explained. “Ooh, I'm nervous talking about it!” before concluding, “But… I am for the girls.”
