This weekend Metallica will play the final two shows of the 2023 leg of the M72 World Tour, on Friday, November 10th and Sunday, November 12th at Ford Field in Detroit.
The tour — supporting this year's “72 Seasons” album — began during late April in Amsterdam and has played a dozen U.S. and European cities with entirely different set lists each night. Guitarist Kirk Hammett tells us that he enjoys the variety but has his own perspective on the no-repeat approach:
“I kind of look at it as just one big, long setlist, but spread out over two shows. And that's how I kind of see it. Yeah, sure, you can see it as a no-repeat thing, but for me it makes more sense looking at it as just one big, long setlist and one-day intermission in between.
