A man named Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested and charged with murder on Friday by Las Vegas prosecutors who say he orchestrated the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur. The 60-year-old has long been known as one of four main suspects in the investigation. Authorities identified Davis as the “shot caller” by authorities, but he is not the accused gunman. He has, however, admitted in interviews and his 2019 tell-all memoir, Compton Street Legend, that he provided the gun. A poice rep said Davis’ public comments revived the investigation by providing police with “admissible evidence.” The first-ever arrest in the Tupac case came more than two months after Las Vegas police raided Davis’ home. A grand jury indicted the self-described “gangster” on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
