After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival during June, Carlos, the new documentary about Carlos Santana, begins its theatrical run this weekend. “Carlos: The Santana Journey Global Premiere” takes place over three days starting Saturday, Sept. 23 and continuing Sept. 24 and 27. Santana and Emmy Award-winner Rudy Valdez (“The Sentence,” “We Are All Brooklyn Saints”) will provide a special introduction for the screenings, while Santana friends such as Clive Davis and Rob Thomas will also participate. Santana tells us that he's particularly pleased “Carlos” presents a down-to-earth picture of his life and career:
“Like Maya Angelou said, the only thing people are gonna remember is how you make them feel. So I want people to feel significant, meaningful, that they're precious and priceless. I want to be able to give people hope and courage and not the opposite of 'Here comes another movie about a loser' or something like that.” :28 (OC: like that)
