SIDNEY POITIER’S FAMILY WILL HOLD PRIVATE MEMORIAL: In a statement released to Entertainment Tonight Sunday (January 23rd), Sidney Poitier’s family announced that his funeral would be a private affair due to the pandemic. The statement read, "The Poitier family so appreciates the wonderful outpouring of love, support and affection for Sidney. There have been many inquiries about an event to honor his life. At this time, due to the coronavirus pandemic, a private memorial service has been arranged for the family with the possibility of a more public memorial service should the virus’ numbers subside in the near future."
GOLDIE HAWN SHARES STORY OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT BY CARTOONIST AL CAPP: On The Megyn Kelly Show Friday (January 21st), actress Goldie Hawn recalled a time early in her career when she was sexually harassed by cartoonist Al Capp. Hawn said she went to Capp’s apartment for an audition when she was 19. “In he walks with his – I didn’t know he had a wooden leg, but he did – well, he walked like he had a wooden leg. He had this insidious grin. It was really ugly. And he said, ‘I’ll be back in a minute, I’m just going to slip into something.’ And he came back in a robe. So now I am freaking out because I am recognizing that something is going on,” Hawn said. She continued, claiming that Capp told her to “‘Look stupid. Look like an imbecile,'” before he asked her for a kiss and later exposed himself. Hawn said she walked out of the audition, telling Capp that she’d “’never get a job like this.’”
