Only days after wrapping his fall tour with Ace Frehley, the great Alice Cooper has just rolled out the first nine dates for 2022. As it stands now, Alice will kick things off on January 28th at Cincinnati's Icon Music Center and wrap the road dates up on February 8th. From February 9th through the 14th he and the band will play the Monsters Of Rock Cruise.
Although sobriety has played a huge part in Alice Cooper's life, he never shied away from the reality of being a celebrity. For years, Alice was an L.A. fixture and admitted that it made for an, at times, odd upbringing for his kids: “They got to do things other kids didn't get to do. They were backstage going, 'Where's Uncle Axl? Where's Uncle Slash?' They knew all the rock stars as 'Uncle' this or 'Uncle' that. 'Where's Uncle Keith? Crazy Uncle Moonie?'”
Cooper told us that he honestly never sees a day coming when he'll retire — or even offer up a scaled back version of his concerts: “I love the stage show, and I'm always gonna do the stage show. There's never a time when I'm gonna back off from the stage show. I think I can do what I do with good conscience and still do my stage show and stay within my own boundaries, and everybody's gonna walk away going, 'That was the best show I've ever seen.' And still compete with Marilyn Manson, and still compete with Slipknot, and Mudvayne, and all these bands. I just don't go for the cheap shot — I wanna go for the clever shot.”
