KURT COBAIN CARICATURE SOLD FOR $281,250 AT ACUTION: A caricature drawing of Kurt Cobain, done by the Nirvana frontman himself, sold for $281,250 at the Julien’s Auctions Music Icons sale. The drawing depicts Cobain playing the guitar and is signed “Kurdt Kobain Rock Star.” It also features the handwritten caption, “I don’t know how to play and I don’t give a hoot!” It sold for 28 times the original estimate. LINKIN PARK PRAISES NANDI BUSHNELL'S LATEST COVER: Eleven-year-old drumming phenom, Nandi Bushnell has been praised by Linkin Park for her recent cover of their hit song, “Numb.” The band shared her video and wrote, “Wow, this is awesome” on their twitter. Bushnell’s drumming abilities have been recognized by several musicians over the last several months including, Slipknot's Jay Weinberg and Metallica's Kirk Hammett. She was gifted signature guitars by both Muse's Matt Bellamy and Tom Morello. Dave Grohl — whom she participated in a drum battle with — even wrote a song about her. (Loudwire)
RADIOHEAD AUCTIONS OFF VINYL TEST PRESSING OF 'KID A': Radiohead are raffling off a rare vinyl test pressing of their fourth studio album, Kid A. Proceeds will benefit Gig Buddies, a charity that pairs people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people with a music fan of similar interests with whom they can attend shows. (NME)
