Styx and special guests Collective Soul have rolled out the first eight shows of a 2021 run, within most shows going on sale this Friday (April 23rd). Best Classic Bands reported the trek kicks off on June 16th in St. Augustine, Florida at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and wraps on June 27th at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma's Zoo Amphitheatre. Styx also has a trio of Vegas dates on the books for September.
Styx's Tommy Shaw said in a statement for the new dates: “Hello friends. . . Man, have we missed you all! After all this time off, (whew!) and now to get together with this masterful band of storytelling troubadours, we can’t wait to see you all again live and in person, performing an evening of music we love.”
Styx co-founder James “J.Y.” Young says that he understands why Styx's music continues to entertain and inspire their legion of fans: “We're celebrating the positive things about life in America, life in the modern world as we know it. We bring joy to people, we bring a healing power to people. It's this therapeutic thing where people can walk into a place and leave all the crap behind them, and relive, y'know, good times to the soundtrack of their glorious misspent youth.”
