As a teaser for their upcoming fall 2021 UK tour dates, Genesis has posted their latest rehearsal montage. The new clip features shots of the band running through their show over a rehearsal version of their 1986 Invisible Touch classic, “Land Of Confusion.” The September and October dates mark the third time the band has been forced to reschedule the shows due to the ongoing pandemic. Genesis last reunited in 2007 for the 48-date trek, “Turn It On Again: The Tour.”
The band — featuring Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks — will be joined on the road by longtime lead guitar and bassist Daryl Stuermer, and Phil Collins' son Nic Collins on drums. The group's 19-show European leg hits the UK and Ireland in September and October. So far, no North American dates have been announced.
Although by no means a reluctant stage performer, co-founding keyboardist Tony Banks told us his primary duty in Genesis has always been that of a composer: “It's always been one of my major roles in this group to write music. 'Cause, y'know, back in the time when Pete (Gabriel) first left, y'know, Mike and I were definitely doing a lion's share of the writing, even before that. In the later part, y'know, slightly Phil's contribution came up more to a kind of level with ours. I mean that was the thing. I'd say it was very much an even thing on those last two Genesis albums.”
