The British tribute band Pearl Jamm — spelled with two m's — have been sent a cease and desist by the real Pearl Jam, according to Loudwire. The Seattle-based band is demanding the cover band destroy merchandise with the Pearl Jamm name as well as providing them with email addresses and web domains associated with the band.
In a recent story covered by BBC News, the British Pearl Jamm band revealed that according to legal documents from Pearl Jam, the tribute band’s name is “damaging the Pearl Jam brand and causing confusion” among fans.
In response, cover band Pearl Jamm posted a letter to the real Pearl Jam on social media which reads:
