Dave Grohl revealed to Classic Rock magazine that Axl Rose gifted him a rare and beautiful guitar for lending him his “throne” on tour. Grohl himself debuted the throne in the summer of 2015, after he fell off stage and broke his leg during a Foo Fighters concert in Sweden. Grohl was unable to walk or run for several months as a result of that injury, so he performed a large stretch of Foo Fighters shows on the massive light-up throne constructed for him by the band's road crew.
The Foos frontman later ended up loaning the throne to Axl Rose after the Guns N' Roses singer broke his foot right at the start of that band's “Not In This Lifetime” reunion tour in April 2016 — forcing Rose to perform the first portion of the trek while seated.
Grohl told Classic Rock: “So, Axl took it out with Guns N’ Roses, then he took it out with AC/DC, and then all of a sudden I became the guy you come to if you break a limb on tour, like 'Thrones R Us.'”
