Cleveland's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame & Museum is set to re-open on Monday, June 15th. The Rock Hall has been dark since it was closed back on March 14th due to COVID-19 concerns, and will now be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with limited spaces available for specific time slots. The Hall is hoping to operate safely at 50 percent capacity.
Blabbermouth reported, “Safety precautions include daily continuous cleaning, hand-sanitizing stations throughout the building, safe social distancing, temperature checks prior to entry, masks required of staff and fans, limited capacity with timed ticketing, plexiglass shields at checkout, and credit card and mobile payment only. Rock Hall is also providing early access available at 10 a.m. for teachers (Mondays), vulnerable fans (Tuesdays), Rock Hall Members (Saturdays) and healthcare workers (Sundays).”
Joan Jett was arguably the highlight of 2014's Rock Hall induction ceremonies when she led Nirvana through a blistering rendition of “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” She gave us the back-story on her show stealing performance: “They discussed the songs they were doing and that they were talking about me trying 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.' So, I was, like, at once fearful on one level, 'cause you go, 'Oh, my God — the legacy of that and doing that, that's really intense and a lot to take on.' But on the other hand — and I was a huge Nirvana fan — so, as a music fan and having that opportunity, how could you possibly say no? To tell you the truth, I get nervous before everything. I was so not nervous. I was eerily calm.”
