LADY GAGA DEBUTS AT NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD 200 WITH ‘CHROMATICA’: Lady Gaga has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her sixth studio album, Chromatica. It marks Gaga’s sixth No. 1 studio album on the Billboard 200, moving 274,000 equivalent album units in its first week, which also makes it the biggest week for any album by a woman in 2020. She previously topped the charts with the A Star Is Born soundtrack, Joanne, Cheek to Cheek, Artpop and Born This Way. It also marks the fifth biggest week of 2020 for any album. With six No. 1 albums in nine years, Gaga holds the record for fastest a woman has claimed six No. 1 albums. She’s now just one of eight women to have at least six No. 1 albums.
MADONNA JOINS BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTEST IN LONDON WHILE ON CRUTCHES: Madonna marched in the Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday in London, England. In videos shared by fans, Madonna can be seen walking with crutches and chatting with fellow protestors as she showed her support in the fight against racial injustice. Madonna has been using crutches as she recovers from a knee injury that she has been battling ever since she launched her Madame X Tour last year.
BTS ARMY RAISES OVER $500,000 IN LESS THAN A DAY FOR BLACK LIVES MATTER CHARITIES: Following the news that BTS donated $1 million alongside their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, to Black Lives Matter, fans of the group organized the #MatchAMillion initiative to match their favorite group’s donation – and in just a day’s time they raised $500,000. The initiative allows fans to donate to specific organizations, or split between them all, including Black Lives Matter Global Network, Reclaim the Block, National Bail Out, Black Visions Collective, and Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project. Fans are also tracking their individual donations on a shared document.
