Britney Spears’ fans surprised her last week by sending her 2016 album Glory to No. 1 on the iTunes charts – so she surprised them in return with new artwork.
The original artwork was not greeted warmly four years ago, and a change.org petition was even launched to replace it, claiming that the initial photo was “not a suitable representation of the music that Britney is putting out.” So Britney has updated the album cover. The new album cover, which can be seen on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, sees Spears in a gold one-piece lying on her back in the desert, surrounded by a huge silver chain.
The photo was shot in the desert by famed photographer David LaChapelle and it was said the shoot was scrapped because it was deemed too racy.
