Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi did the Garden State proud last night (April 22nd) on the multimedia Jersey 4 Jersey fundraiser benefitting the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund. “The Boss” addressed the viewers at home by stating: “We’re here tonight dedicated to our healthcare workers and all of those who have lost loved ones who are suffering and dying with this terrible disease right here, right now in our beloved state.”
Springsteen played two acoustic numbers in his Rumson home studio with wife Patti Scalifa — “Land Of Hope And Dreams” and his legendary remake of Tom Waits' classic “Jersey Girl.”
Bon Jovi also performed two numbers acoustically — his recently written song about the pandemic, titled, “Do What You Can” and Bon Jovi's breakthrough hit “Livin' On A Prayer.”
Other performers included Tony Bennett, Danny DeVito, Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, Halsey, Kelly Rippa, Stephen Colbert, and the surviving members of Fountains Of Wayne, whose bassist and songwriter, Adam Schlesinger, died from coronavirus on April 1st.
