- Only weeks after releasing his first original song since 2012, Bob Dylan is back with the track, “I Contain Multitudes.” The tune, which cribs its title from the great Walt Whitman, shares some of the same musical characteristics as his last download, “Murder Most Foul,” while managing to name check the Rolling Stones, Anne Frank, and Indiana Jones. There's still no word if the songs will form the basis of a new studio album.
- Ringo Starr, brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Don Was, and the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson have joined forces to back country veteran Ray Wylie Hubbard on his new track. “Bad Trick.” The video for the song features the musicians recording at Ringo's L.A. studio home studio, Roccabella West.
- John Oates will make a guest appearance on ABC's The Goldbergs on Wednesday, April 22nd at 8 p.m. ET. The show's executive producer Adam F. Goldberg said in the announcement: “Daryl Hall and John Oates were my favorite musical duo from my childhood and a major part of the soundtrack to my life. Their songs dominated the '80s while I was growing up in suburban Philadelphia where both Hall & Oates are from. While we have featured their songs and referenced them in previous episodes, we are taking it to the next level this time around as John Oates, who is a fan of the show, is appearing in the episode. Kansas has just unveiled the new video for “Throwing Mountains,” the lead single from the band's upcoming album, The Absence Of Presence, which drops on June 26th. Kansas' current lineup features new frontman and keyboardist Ronnie Platt who replaced Steve Walsh, who retired from the band in 2014 after 41 years of service. Kansas still includes legendary members Richard Williams on guitar, Phil Ehart on drums, Billy Greer on bass, and violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale.

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has raised nearly $24,000 for the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS) by auctioning off personal items, including one of his guitars. The axe sold for approximately $14,130, with other items from the collection raising the rest for hospitals in Iommi's hometown of Birmingham. The 72-year-old guitar legend has praised the “great work” of the NHS in combating the coronavirus pandemic. (BBC)
