Ron Wood — who'll celebrate 10 years of sobriety this year — reached out to fans struggling while in self-quarantine. Wood posted on his social media pages, “To those in AA & NA and other recovery support groups, who won’t be able to go to meetings during (the) Coronavirus lockdown, I hope these readings help you as much as they help me.” The Rolling Stones' guitarist went on to read a passage from Keep It Simple: Daily Meditations For Twelve-Step Beginnings And Renewal.
Ron Wood — who's checked himself into rehab seven times over the years — spoke candidly on why he drank and did drugs, and ultimately what caused him to go get straight: “Y'know, I think a lot of it is to do — the drink and drugs — with the celebration thing. Like, if you've done something really well, you go, 'Yeah! Let's drink to that.' And that was just getting kind of out of hand. And I realized that I wasn't getting any happier if I drank. In fact, I was getting this person that I wasn't. I was getting very depressed and quite an angry person, and very snappy with people, and I don't like to think that that is me.”
