Sammy Hagar & The Circle have cancelled their South American tour. Between March 14th and the 22nd the band, featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Vic Johnson, were set to play five shows in Chile and Brazil.
A message was posted on Hagar's RedRocker.com website saying: “The upcoming Sammy Hagar & The Circle shows in South America have been cancelled, due to the escalation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The decision has been made along with the local promoters in order to reduce potential health risks in response to the current global health crisis. If you have any questions regarding refunds contact the local promoter or any of their authorized point of sales where you purchased your ticket(s)”
Sammy Hagar took to his social media platforms to express his regrets at having to scrap the South American dates: “I'm making the official announcement, the Circle's shows have been cancelled. You can go to the promoter's websites and find out how to get your money back. But, I also wanna tell you that no one is more disappointed than me — and the band. We were so looking forward to going down there and playin' for our first time. I've never played in South America ever in my life. So, I just wanna give you a personal apology and if it weren't for all this Coronavirus stuff, the safety of the fans, the band, my family, your families — we'd be coming.”
