Jon Bon Jovi is promising a hard line, issues-based new album. Bon Jovi will release its 15th studio set, Bon Jovi 2020, on May 15th. During a chat with BBC's The One Show, he touched upon how the past year influenced the material he ended up writing: “I tackled a lot of topics, whether it's soldiers with PTSD, or gun violence, which has run rampant in America, or the current administration in the White House — there's many social issues on this record. It's not just a big rock record. But, as these topics hit me and I could write about 'em, of course there's other pressing issues — i.e. global warming. But, in my viewpoint, in that time — and this was encompassing my life in 2019, these were the topics I could write about. I come from a time and a place where albums (laughs) mattered. Albums were presented as a beginning, middle, and an end.”
