- Billy Joel's 14.6-acre Long Island estate was broken into last weekend with a dozen motorcycles and an office left vandalized. No one was home at the time of the break-in, in which no property was stolen. Nassau Police are in search of the suspect, with Billy's publicist Claire Mercuri saying in a statement: “It's an ongoing investigation and we have no comment.”
- According to Newsday: “Detectives from the Second Squad said the break-in occurred between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Monday at a home on Centre Island Road in Oyster Bay’s exclusive Centre Island. The burglar, police said, damaged a garage door to enter the premises.” (Newsday)
- Set for release on March 20th is Def Leppard's The Early Years 79-81 box set. The five-disc collection features the band’s first two albums, 1980's On Through The Night and 1981's High 'N’ Dry, along with “B-sides, rarities and re-mix versions, Radio One sessions, Live From Reading and the first ever appearance of an unreleased and newly mixed show from Oxford in 1980.”
- Frontman Joe Elliott said in the press release for the box: “Well the fans asked, and we listened! Really excited to have our early years reworked with a load of rare material including the newly unearthed Live At The Oxford New Theatre, recorded on the 1980 UK tour. It’s been a trip putting this box set together and I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we did working on it!” (Press release)
