- Bruce Springsteen will auction off an autographed Harley Davidson motorcycle, along with one of his Fender Telecasters in a fundraising effort for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The auction is set for Friday (January 17th) at the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation’s “Take Me To Tokyo” gala at Deeridge Farm in Wellington, Florida. Springsteen and Patti Scialfa's daughter, 28-year-old Jessica Springsteen is a world class equestrian ” who competes successfully at the top level in the sport all over the world and has represented the US on several Nations Cups teams.” It's still unknown whether Jessica will be competing at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.
- Springsteen was quoted as saying, “Patti and I have been involved with the horse world for more than 20 years since Jess started riding when she was five years old. Our lives have been deeply enriched by our involvement in the riding world. I’ve gotten to watch my daughter grow up into a young woman of character and excellence. - In other Springsteen news, “The Boss'” youngest son, 23-year-old Sam Springsteen, was sworn in as a Jersey City, New Jersey firefighter. Bruce said of his hero son: “It was a long road, and he was very dedicated. We’re very proud. We’re just excited for him today.” The younger Springsteen had previously been a member of his hometown Colts Neck Fire Department, the Long Branch Fire Department, and the North Wildwood Fire Department. - Aerosmith will be joined by Run DMC at the January 26th Grammy Awards on January 26th. Variety reported “a source close to the situation” revealed the team-up would take place with Run DMC joining in during the band's medley of hits for a rendition of “Walk This Way.” The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS starting at at 8 p.m. ET. - Queen + Adam Lambert have signed on to play the “Fire Fight Australia” concert on February 16th in Sydney. The benefit concert will be held at ANZ Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park to raise funds for the National Bushfire Relief. The nearly 10-hour show will also feature Alice Cooper, k.d. lang, and Olivia Newton-John, among many others. (QueenOnline.com)
